How to verify the Software and Hardware Versions of Your MachineMotion Controller

Introduction:

Understanding the software and hardware versions of your MachineMotion controller is crucial for both effective machine operation and when seeking technical support. Whether you’re troubleshooting, performing regular maintenance, or preparing for a support session, knowing these details ensures you can accurately diagnose issues and communicate effectively with support teams. This quick guide will walk you through the simple steps needed to check these versions, helping you maintain smooth operations and avoid unnecessary downtime.

Steps:

Step 1: Initial Setup and Access

  • Connect a computer to the “TO PC” port on your MachineMotion controller and power on the controller by flipping the POWER ON button.
  • As the controller boots up, the status LED will first display blue. Wait for it to turn green (approximately 90 seconds), indicating that the system is ready.
  • Once the status LED is green, open Google Chrome and browse to 192.168.7.2.

Step 2: Access the Control Interface

  • The following screen will appear once you’ve connected. Before proceeding, ensure all physical e-stop buttons are released.
  • Click “RELEASE” to disable the software stop.
  • Next, click “RESET” when you’re ready to operate the machine. This will verify that all configured drives are detected and properly energized.
  • If the screen reappears after pressing “RESET,” check to ensure a jumper is connected to the pendant port (if no pendant is present), and ensure that the safety system is properly connected to the “Safety-in” connector.
