Hard Collision Recovery Process Guide - UR Cobots

In this post, you will find the step-by-step instructions for any operator to follow in order to
recover your palletizer from a hard collision.
A hard collision disables the capability of restarting the robot task when pressing the Reset
button and causing a fault.

  1. If an emergency stop condition has occurred, the user will need to press the operational
mode button on the UR pendant and select the option of Local control.

  2. Ensure to stop the program that is running on the pendant:

  3. Navigate to the status page from the bottom left corner and check if the brake can be released:

  4. . If the user is successful in releasing the brakes, the user can jog the robot and move it
to a safe location by navigating to the move tab:

  5. You can also move the robot with respect to the Tool frame by switching to the Tool
feature and moving the TCP in the required direction from the jogger on the left panel:

  6. If the Brake Release process at step 3 was unsuccessful, navigate to the Move page where
the user can see the BackDrive option as indicated below:

  7. The user needs to hold the button and move the arm with some force out of the position
    of collision.

  8. Once out of the position, the user can release the brakes and jog it.

  9. Once the recovery process is complete, the user should navigate back to the operational
mode and switch to the Remote Control and Reconnect to the Robot through the
    Vention Pendant
